Why do I have to be within 25 m to open a card?
A CardPin card stays where it was taken. From far away the map shows only its direction and distance; the photo and the line appear once you are within 25 m (about 80 ft). This is by design: every card is tied to a real place, and you get a reason to walk there.
Why can't I use a photo from my library?
A card records that you were really there, so photos are taken with the in-app camera on the spot, and the location and time come from that moment. You can withdraw a card within 2 minutes and edit its text within 15 minutes (a party card only while the party is live). Cards with the Official badge were photographed on site by the CardPin team and show the date they were taken.
Do you track my location?
We never record your movements. The server stores a location only when you post a card; locations used for the map, nearby cards and reminders are used for that request only and are not stored. If you turn on nearby reminders, the system's low-power geofence wakes the app when you approach a place with cards, and the app sends your current location to our server once to check for cards you haven't opened; that location is not stored or logged. Reminders are off by default and can be turned off anytime in Settings. See the privacy policy.
There are no cards near me. What now?
An empty map is the best place to start: tap the camera button, or "Take the first photo" in the empty state. When you see a place you want to visit or a card a friend shared, add it to your plan and open it once you get there.
I denied camera access. How do I get it back?
The camera screen explains why and offers a button: on Android you can tap "Allow camera" again; if you chose not to be asked again, or denied it on iOS, tap "Open Settings", enable the camera permission, and the camera opens automatically when you return to the app.
How do I report or block someone?
Open the "..." menu on a card or a profile and choose Report; pick a reason and send. A person reviews it within 24 hours, and your identity is not shared with the other user. The same menu has Block (except for the official account): neither of you will see the other's cards or profile, you can't tag or invite each other, and they are not notified. Unblock in Settings > Account > Blocked users. If you just don't want to see a card, hide it without reporting. See the community guidelines.
How do I turn off nearby reminders?
Profile > menu (top right) > Settings > switch off "Nearby card reminders"; the app removes all geofences. You can also revoke the location permission in system settings.
How do I delete my account?
Profile > menu (top right) > Settings > scroll to the bottom > Delete account. For deletion without the app, and what happens afterwards, see account deletion.
